Peter Taylor - Non-Executive Director

Peter is a graduate of the Camborne School of Mines and was previously the Chief Executive Officer of London AIM listed Pathfinder Minerals plc. He has extensive experience of exploration and mining including, the Moebase and Naburi heavy mineral sands mining licences in Mozambique and, as former Chief Operating Officer of dual listed (Canadian TSX:V/AIM) Afferro Mining Inc, the New Liberty Gold Mine in Liberia and Nkout Iron Ore Project in Cameroon.

Michael O'Donnell - Chief Financial Officer

Michael O’Donnell: qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1987 including 10 years in London with RSM, Michael worked with a number of companies in the role of Finance Director, such as a New York-London based AIM listed publishing company for 10 years with sales of £22M, until taken over; a French multi-sited listed telecoms group with sales of £55M and a private property group with net assets of in excess of £500M. He currently acts a part-time FD for a number of companies within different sectors.
He has led and supported the financial due diligence on a number of transactions, ranging in values from £35m to £4.5m.
He is conversant with all the latest IFRS, UK and US GAAP accounting conventions, as well as current business practices.

Richard Howe - Chairman

Having spent his first professional years in advertising in London with Unilever, joined BAT in 1976, where he spent over 30 years in 4 general manger positions on 3 continents. After Africa and Sri Lanka he set up and was the first CEO of BAT Russia.

Since retiring he resides in Cameroon, where he holds or has held a number of board and advisory positions with D1 Oils, Helius Energy, Geovic Mining Corp, Sundance Mining, Affero Mining, Legend Mining, Chanas Insurance and Diageo Guinness. He created CAMEC, (Cameroon Mining Council) and the Cameroon Business Council for Good Governance. He chairs the Senior Advisory Council of the Cameroon Emploers’ Federation (Gicam. )

John Byfield - Non-executive Director

John Byfield has joined the Board as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 July 2023. He qualified as a solicitor in 1978, forming his own practice in Southampton in 1980. This practice focussed on sports law and commercial elements around sport, in particular Formula 1 motor racing. After merging with a larger regional firm, Mr Byfield retired from private practice and founded a sports management business, Essentially Group, of which he was Executive Chairman, and which was admitted to trading on AIM in 2006, before being sold to Chime Communications in 2010.

James Hogg - Technical Adviser

Principal Geologist with Addison Mining Services Ltd with over 25 years’ experience in the mineral exploration and resource industry covering exploration, resource evaluation, project management, data management, project and resource auditing and due diligence, reporting to JORC2012 and NI43-101 standards.

Expertise in precious and base metals, bulk commodity, industrial and energy resources across hydrothermal, igneous, volcanogenic hosted, mineral sands and stratigraphic/seamtype deposits. Competent and Qualified Person for vein and shear hosted precious and base metal, porphyry related, VMS and stratigraphic polymetallic deposit types.

James Butterfield - Managing Director

James joined 3i plc in 1969 and, over a ten year period, became an Area Manager and Local Director, in which role he oversaw and managed a portfolio of more than 200 unquoted investments. Since leaving 3i plc, he has, for over 30 years, specialised in advising small to medium sized companies on a range of matters including stock market listings, mergers and acquisitions, fund raising and corporate recovery work. Until October 2009, James was a director of Essentially Group Ltd, an AIM quoted sports marketing and management business, in which he was actively involved in the creation and early development of what is now one of the world’s largest Rugby Union and Cricket player management businesses. James resigned as a result of a successful takeover of the business by Chime Communications Plc. Until recently James was a director of EDGE10, a world-class provider of sports technology to 750 sports teams internationally.

Jonathan Wearing - Chairman

Jonathan Wearing joined the board as a non-executive director on 1^st July 2023. He started his career with CitiBank in London in the 1970s, progressing through both the commercial and investment banking units, finishing as a mergers and acquisitions specialist. Mr Wearing was formerly the Chairman of AIM-traded Ideagen plc, the software company taken private by Hg Capital in July 2022 and, separately, Chairman of AQSE quoted Sativa Group plc. Independently, for the last two decades Mr Wearing has built his own consultancy and investment business.
